My buddy Lou Statman has been repairing and painting the vert ramp at Eisenberg's Skatepark in Plano in preperation for what took place today. Bringing back the old Clown Ramp that resided on the shores of Bachman Lake in Dallas back in the 80's was the goal and Lou did a great job with the ramp. Some really good skating went down (though I didn't get any good action pics on my Blackberry) by some youngsters and old farts alike. In the crowd were faces like John TEX Gibson, Craig Johnson, Todd Prince, Mark Abrook, Mike Crum, Pat Sherman, Jimmy Finley, Henry Hester, Jeff Newton just to name a few. I'll let Newtron post his action shots but til then here are a few I snapped....
NEWTRON!!!
Lee Leal of Embassy Skateboards...
Dana BUCKIT Buck...
Before the contest we headed to the pub next door. Abrook, Gibson, MISSPHITTS Lenny and CJ....
TEX and Hester...
Event organizer Lou Staman and Hester...
Oliver ALLOVERIT Bradley, his girlfriend and Mark Abrook...
A few months back I gave Gibson some NOS Tracker Magnesiums, here he returns the favor with a signed Embassy board for my wall...
Team Cockfight at the Guapo bowl last night....
It was a really cool day, Lou did a great job with getting the ramp back in shape and I hope Newtron posts some of his shots so you can see how good the skating was. Cheers! |

Good times, great skating and now it's time to hit Craigs for some BBQ.
Wish I could hang on that monster but I was never a great vert skater.
I have a couple shots and some vid of Crum but I know Jeffs got way more/better. |

Pat Sherman was KILLIN it today. Didn't see much but saw enough to know that! Crum with the face high frontside ollies weren't too shaby either. |
