As far as highbacks, I had some cartels, could only use them one time because the built in lean was too much, felt really unnatural. On my new bindings, I just leave it on the lowest lean setting. |

I've been noticing that not many people do it now. I think it's a lot more comfortable.
i used to do that ,heavy fwd lean like terje. but now i've bagged the high backs completely. theyre overrated, you dont need them. see how high you can jump with your ankles locked.or do skateboard slolom with locked ankles.
Wait.... you pull the highbacks out of the binding completely?!
Strange, I damn near did this very thing last week. '09 Burton Freestyles, have a ton more built-in fwd lean than I'm used to (I previously rode the Switch step-in system for eons). I ended up putting the highbacks back in, just out of some weird fear of the untried/unknown.
Now, I have half a mind to yank 'em the hell out, and not look back. They just feel really restrictive on the jibs, y'know. I like a looser setup, easier to tweak those grabs. |

Wow! So, I'm not only the onlyguy to have pondered this, I'm actually 14 years behind the curve! Woo-hoo!
Goodbye, highbacks!
(*I'll keep'em around, though, so I can always put them back in if need be...*) |
