Anyone have any ideas about who makes a freestyle deck the same dimensions as a Welinder I?

I know there are quite a few deck makers out there, and all of their decks look good. Real good. I am picky though. Looking for something that rides like my original. Same length, width, nose, tail, etc.

Had a Welinder II rider for a bit..Just didn't feel the same to me.

I used to have a PDF file of the Welinder I stats.. I was going to buy a blank, and make my own, but the file is forever lost in the computer abyss...Powell Peralta used to send out these spec sheets (more like a 2 page magazine) to the skateshops when new decks were coming out..

Any help would be cool...Thanks

~Brian

I'll bet the Powell Kevin Harris reissue is really damn close.

Hi Brian!

Contact Witter Cheng of http://www.decomposedsk8.com/index.html
email: weeeeeter (at) hotmail.com
Check out his museum page, he's got a Welinder there.
Don't know if Welinder changed shape from version I to II, but Witter could trace it onto a single kick and make you a custom cut, just ask him!
Tell him that YOYO sent you, ok?!

Yoyo,
Thanks bro..I was actually considering doing that, but I didn't know what the feel would be for asking someone who sells their own decks, to make me a replica of another companies deck..I didn't want to step on toes so to speak..

If you feel he'd be OK with it, I'll ask..

Thanks for the info..

CoCo,
The Harris is probably closer to the Mullen "Mutt", then the Welinder. Mullen & Harris both rode decks with more rounded noses / tails & sides. Welinder rode a more flat /squared nose /tail with straighter sides...

Thanks for the replies you two..

~Brian

Check www.sk8kings.com

360 king Richie Carrassco has a bunch of shapes you'd likely dig.

The Butterfeild, DDisaderio, Jester and Carrasco models are all snubbed.

That Butterfield on sk8kings.com has peaked my curiosity.

I would say the I and II's are pretty damn near identical. Shoot me a PM if you need the stats, shape traced or whatever though.

Decomposed have a Welinder shape on the go that rides (to me) like the original Welinder I. Flat nose, flat deck etc. Witter calls it The Lacerator.

http://www.decomposedsk8.com/id73.html

Great for shove-it's, varials, manuals, nose caspers ...

The Kevin Harris wheelbase is real tiny compared even to the old Mullen shape. Takes awhile to adjust to each.

Just emailed Witter

Kriss, thanks for the heads up on the "lacerator".
It does indeed appear to have the same shape, specs as a Welinder.

If so, I will be a happy old man

Hopefully Decomposed will sell me a blank (No graphics). I'm feeling somewhat artistic lately

NOW, I'm also on the hunt for a pair of wheels. Preferably some PP freestyles (lime green) (Highly doubtful)

And some Indy 99's (Fat chance I know)

Why yes, I am trying to put together my freestyle grail.. I want to do it as inexpensive as possible (Fucking recession has me saying that more than I can count lately).

So, if anyone can recommend a wheel similar to the PP freestyle (Not the freestyle 2's), and a truck comparable to the Indy 99's, I'd be willing to listen

Thanks for the help/replies/etc

~Brian
