| Whats up guys, I've been leaning toward using a bandsaw to cut out decks, cause the old jigsaw method kills my hand! I was thinking about getting just a small workbench style one from lowes, or maybe a craftsman one, but all the reviews i read seem like they're junk! What do you guys use? |

| cnc. . . cuts out 10 at a time. but a band saw will work fine. If you're into it for the long haul, spend the extra $$ for a good saw, like a 12" or 14" floor model. |

| Cool man thanks, I 'm going to go with a more expensive one, sometimes you get what you pay for, and in this case with all the shitty reviews of the smaller one, bigger seems to be better! |

Joystick....
14" Bandsaw is hard to beat for speed once you get the hang of it. It takes some practice IMO but after a few dozen decks it becomes like driving a car with a stick shift, routine.
I would recommend a narrow blade 1/4" (not wider than 3/8") but be prepared to break a few during the learning curve and for that matter when you need one the most lol.

BTW, CNC is of course a more productive way to go but they are usually out of the price range of smaller builders (myself included) unless you build it yourself. Joe at Pennswoods is a great guy to speak with regarding using a CNC machine for deck cutting. Not counting out anyone else, I just know that his set up is done with a CNC for cutting and he has offered advice for using them for decks in the past on here. |

| You should look online (ex Ebay) for tool/machine resellers and get stuff for a dime on the dollar. There is tons of stuff in Cali that goes for reasonable prices when it comes to used stuff, maybe there would be a seller in your neck of the woods... |
