I think anything over 17inch wheelbase is a start, or should it be measured by the overall length of the board? Just curious what your opinion is, thats all.

Howdy,
I think it's gotta be the actual length of the board.
My BDS Ray Flores deck has a wheelbase of
19" and it definitely is not a long board.
My Afroman Hustler isn't a longboard either,
but it's pushing into that territory. My BDS
Longboard(38") and Afroman Numbchuck(38")
are indeed longboards. It can, and probably
does, depend on the rider though...

LongBoarding is a state of mind. I pulled three rock-n-rolls on my numbchuck today. That can't be a longboard, can it?
I'll never go back... |

Dewey, you're on THE board that changed the way longboards are viewed. The Chuck should be in everyone's quiver! |

It's odd. when I stand on my Tejano Hellrider (36.66") in the house, It seems so long & flexy & impossible to ride. But, once I drop in to a ramp, or hit up the ditches, I forget completely about it's length & just ride. It's wierd.
