Interesting. Is this a sign of the downfall of corporate skateboarding?

No. It's the sign that predatory expositions have been snubbed by the skateboard industry.

ASR is nothing more than a hole companies are expeced to throw money in—instead of using it to actually promote their products rather than ASR (who became so stupidly expensive).

First off........fucking awesome. What a pain in the ass it is and no one writes orders like they used to at the show. I remember back in like 2000 they were crazy. Remember the Osiris "D3" booth.........like 3 stories tall. The smaller more core related show that are more skate specific are better, cheaper, you don't have a light up razor scooter wheel dude next to you, spend like 1/20th and reach the right dudes.........no brainer. Rad. Thank you for brighting my morning

Exactly. It just got progressively stupider and more expensive as it went on.

Although it was helpful having everyone in one place I got more business done in one hour sitting in the lobby or outside having a smoke than many did running around the trade show trying to find specific people/booths to try to do business with.

Love going to San Diego, but even the timing for that was bad (San Diego is acrid bunghole of heat and humidity in September)—quite nice the rest of the year though.

Had to be a pain for SF companies to come all the way down for that too.
