Been lurking around here for a while and finally regged in. Been skating since about 83' at age ten although facing facts, really havent skated the way I used to in a long while. I miss the life, culture, and everything about skating in my younger years. Been accumulating decks and completes for years because each new one makes me smile especially completes when I test them out...lol Anyway, wanted to say hi to everyone |

thanks for the welcome! Well, pretty much everything I loved when I was really skating in the younger days. All the classic Powell of course, but pretty much any late 70's and 80's wood will bankrupt me quickly...Recently picking up some 90's wood from early Plan B to some Chocolate deck series, but the 80's decks just bring back those memories of dropping into anything I could find then. Skating on the East Coast in the 80's was tough here because it was so far from where everything was really happening. The skate shops here were a joke, ripping people off and I just remember kids leaving with new Powell decks, but wearing OP t-shirts and the latest NIke's...Still, because it was not common here, there were a lot of places and believe it or not, tons of empty pools especially in the Summer because all the rich people went away to the Cape or whatever...I really wish I was out west for those days though. When I moved to Cali in 92' the scene was different...Now I skate when I can, but a hip injury makes it really dicey.... |

Welcome aboard.
Whatever/however you can roll today is more important than what you could used to do or wish you had done. Soft thane and cruise around the hood with nothing to prove, just the pleasure of the ride. That's what blows my skirt ... er mumu up. |
