Finally got around to building a pedal board...

My daughter informed me that my wife got me a Carl Martin Delayla for my birthday next month so I've just got to score a Carl Martin Compresser, an EVH Phase 90 and possibly the EVH Flanger and it should be done.

Board came with a seriously bullet proof case too.

Nice. Homebrew? As in a kit amp?

Kind of. The chassis, cab and power transformer are from a kit that I did a long time ago. It changed a bunch and I tore it apart and started over. Now it's a plexi-ish 50 watt amp.

I've been thinking about doing one... or buying lotto tickets so I can get a pair of Suhr amps.

My best advice: If you want a cheaper handwired amp, look for them. They are out there. If you want to learn how to build amps, then do it. But honestly you can find a used Suhr for a little more than what you would end up spending to buy a kit, and tools, and an attenuator, and oscilloscope, and variac, and signal generator... It goes on and on.

The Suhr amps are running from $2000 to $4000 depending on which model.

Mojotone kits start at around $1000.00 and I highly suggest them. There are "more affordable" kits out there but you won't get the quality. Ceriatone, while out of the country, also makes quality stuff with lots of options. Just have fun and be patient
