Has anyone ever done this? I have a pile of old speakers that need re-coning. I want to order a few kits and see how it goes, and was looking for advice and maybe some tips.

I've never done it myself but it seems to be well worth it. There are so many recone kits and services out there that it must be worth doing.

I'd suggest you check the website of the kit supplier and look for Q & A section that will very likely reveal the issues in the kit and more importantly, what not to do.

The process scares me a bit, but my friends have done it and swear by it.
Great advice, Slob. Patience and being careful, you should be fine.
