Picked up these 3 boards from eBay. I collect Canadian boards from the 60's and 70's but have never heard of this company. Anyone have any info on them. Only 1 has the label. Other two came from the same place and appear to be made by same company but don't have a label or been drilled.
Here are a few photos

I asked the seller about them and this is what he said
"I have been skating 30 years. and have no clue about them... all i can say is i bought a stack of them from a guy in St Catharines Ontario. He was older and the decks were his sons... he knew very little about them .... That one deck is the only one with a sticker ... the rest were all blank.... there was a shop called the skateboard corner ... it was more of a sports shop that had a corner of skate stuff... that was when i first started and i went there maybe twice... they were selling banana type decks and i wanted a powell, so they got left behind when boards changed.... and possibly these decks you won are from there? Im keeping a few for myself too, and if i ever find out anything i get in touch."
I thought they might have been pressed by Wee Willi Winkels but I noticed they are 8 ply not 7 ply like my other Winkels so now I'm not so sure. |

And I thought my Head Honcho deck was relatively rare........
That's a very obscure deck! Very cool.

I don't know but a not too wild guess, based on the logo, is that they were made in connection to the Montreal Summer Games in 1976. Alot of brands tried their luck in the booming skateboarding around that time, examples from Sweden were world reknown bearing manufacturer SKF responsible for Calypso boards and alpine ski maker Elan to name a few. There are no trade marks on the logo which could mean that there were not many made, if it went into production at all. A further guess is I can't help but think of Finnish brand Fazer which has a long history but it doesn't look like any of their logos and I can't think of an obvious connection to the a 1976 Montreal Games or even to Canada. What the P in the logo means also remains a mystery, possibly professional. |
