Eric,
You can find some good reviews, pics, etc. of a lot of the skate parks in California here http://www.caliskatz.com/v4/skateparks/skatepark_intro.asp
I'll try to pass along any info on ditches, loading docks, parking garages, etc. as it comes to mind. |

Just call me Jiminy.
Some of us are still around, some of the skate spots are too. Caliskatz is dead I think.
I've been offline for years, as my collection is pretty much where I wanted it, as well as parenting, performing, affairs and separations have taken their toll.
I'll be moving to Eugene, OR soon, so I'll need to scout out new places, but if you want to get an update on norCal skatespots, I can give you my impressions.
In 10 secs:
#1 Cunningham, hands down
#2 Fremont if it's not a zoo
#3 Sebastopol, but beware the concrete, it's slick as talc.
#4 Same for Sunnyvale. I find it too slick. others love it.
But I'm old, and I suck.

Good luck in Oregon! I passed through there last month driving from Portland to Fremont in a '65 Corvair. Good times.
Lake Cunningham is always a fun time
Fremont is nice, but get there early/before the crowd
Newark just opened a park off of Mowry, haven't skated it yet, but looks ok
Livermore is decent if you live nearby, but not really worth driving to
Santa Cruz, Derby and Scotts Valley is a fun trifecta if you're in the area. (You can also hit the Santa Cruz Boardroom and Bill's Wheels to check out all the goodies hanging on the walls.)
Haven't hit any random skate spots recently as no one near me skates so I usually just hit parks early when I go out. |
