Ripped the carpet from the stairs in my home. Planning to use recycled skateboards for the remodel, treads and risers (stair construction terminology). Has this been done before? Any experienced carpenters have suggestions? Each stair and riser will use multiple skateboard deck pieces as I won't be utilizing any concave, only flat deck sections. Yes, I expect this thread will have photos to entertain the lawless mctwisters and document the process for all. I'm currently collecting used boards and prepping them for the skateboard stairway. If you're cutting out all the concave, are you planning for more of a tile look?
I've seen this guy use regular treads and do the risers with skateboards cut into tiles:

Everyone has seen this idea which looks cool but would be a nightmare and not meet code requirements in most places:

Tile mosaic. I've thought about utilizing the concave but always come to the conclusion that non-skateboarders don't need surprises on stairs which could lead to falls.
I imagine it as something similar to your Bruce Boul link.
