Are ceramic bearings worth the extra cost? Like as far as standing up the the elements over time? I have a Dervish F1 with Paris 180s and Orangutang 4 Presidents wheels that I am going to try and learn to pump on as a full body workout routine. Is there a set of ceramics i can get for 60 ish bucks that are good? I'm not riding competitively where I need the fastest ride in town... way more interested in longevity. I won't be needing to buy bearings super soon, but wanted to get opinions for when I do. I have 2 sets of normal metallic Swiss bones bearings right now... both of which are in need of cleaning lol. If I buy a set of ceramic bearings, is cleaning the same process as metallic bearings? I have 1 of the bearing cleaning bottles from bones. I haven't cleaned bearings in a pretty long time, and as such am asking these dumb questions. Is it as simple as acetone followed by speed cream, or do I need to have some other stuff in mind?
Is Bones Reds ceramic a bearing that I can ride and wash and ride and wash for a really long time, or are Bones Reds disposable bearings?
I just joined this forum and have had a rough day, so I'm sorry if any part of my post is not following protocell |

The right type of ceramic bearings (there are several types ceramic that some of whichmake horrible bearings) in the highest quality races that are honed to high levels of precision are worth every cent.
1. Rockin Rons Cermic Rockets Bearings
2. Bones Swiss Ceramic
Bones Reds Ceramics are good for streetskating and even park riding and mini ramps but not racing... it is not in the same league 2 aforementioned BEST ceramic bearings—not even close.
I don't think Paris trucks have a 9mm axle in them so whatever bearing you put on them will not perform as well as it could on an axle it can fit tightly on in a precision manner. |

Good stuff but they don't beat Stage III Ceramic Rockets. |
