If I had to choose one meal for the rest of my life, it'd be the veggie super burrito form Taqueria Cancun, 19th and Mission, San Francisco. With a bottle of the mexican coke and the chips.
There wasn't any Mexican food in Japan so when I moved back to SF in '98 I happened upon that joint and I swear I ate there every day for two weeks. Couldn't get enough and i still go there all the time even though i'm 20 minutes (and dozens of burrito joints) away. |

Taqueria, Walnut Creek, California. I have tried just about every mom and pop Mexican place in the Bay Area, and hundreds down south. I always seem to come back to this one. I have been eating there regularly for about 15 years.
I also like some of the McBurrito places, Chipotle, and La Salsa moslty.
But damn, Taqueria ia always calling my name.
By the way there about about 17 billion places called "Taqueria" in CA, and they are not all created equal. |
