Never mind the bad tats, have you ever seen their fraternity symbols BRANDED into their skin? It's this big, gross puffy scar that is probably one of the most heinous, unattractive things I have ever seen on a human....in my opinion, of course.

I think those brands are pretty damn cool, in a stupid and foolish kind of way. It's gotta take some balls, that shit must hurt like a real MFer.
I was talking to a guy with a brand at a party a few years ago, and I asked him about the process. He told me that what they do is that they first burn the skin in the desired shape of the brand (I can't remember if they have an iron, or just heat up a coathanger on the stove or what), then they let it bubble up and scab over for a couple of days, and then they rip the scab and bubbly skin off, smear ashes into the raw wound, and then patch it up. Apparently the ashes cause the skin to heal in a much puffier and distinctly discolored manner than it would if otherwise left alone.
