Master of the No-Comply - nobody can swish the board around like that. The smoothness comes through in slow board rotation and absolutely solid landings that often effortlessly begin another trick.
Thanks for the vid, cartman - keep 'em coming. |

I saw some recent footage of him on the Captain and Casey show recently. That guy has the best frontside flips I've ever seen IMHO. Plays a mean ass guitar too. |

Does he or does he not look like he could do most of those tricks with his eyes closed? I swear, dude could skate in his sleep and have more style than almost anyone else.
Hes the only skater that I know of that seems to have a "connection" with his board. Now I gotta go dig up Public Domain to see his part in that. |

Anyone remember Tim Scroggs (original Bones Brigade freestyler from the 70s)? He used to do routines with a paper bag over his head, or wearing a ski mask with the eye holes covered with stickers...
The "Rubber Boys" part of "Public Domain" is probably my alltime favorite street part. Ray just killed it in that... |

Ah - Public Domain. Was that about the last video where you could see pros and ams doing tricks (stair ollies, no-complys, etc) that most anybody could actually do? Well, not do as well for the most part but we went out and learned 'em eventually.
I found my copy recently and watched it again. Ray was just a little kid in the am section. |

Agreed - that shit is insane.
Ray is the (street) style king. No fucking hammers, just smooth as silk with a mess of fun-looking tricks. That's the key: FUN. Ray always looks like he is having FUN while skateboarding. That's missing from a lot of today's rail dogs. |
