G'day all
I was wondering if anyone knows of a source of industry wide sales data.
The sort of stuff I'm looking for is - top 5 - 10 of completes, decks, heels trucks etc. If someone could point me in the direction of some freely available info. I'm looking at setting up a (intially) web based skate shop
(non US) and wanted to know what are the popular "bread and butter lines". I hope to be specializing in boutique/oldschool stuff but I also want to be able to pay the bills . I'm cool with oldschool but have little experience with the "cookie cutter" stuff.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards to all
Mark

Softgoods is where the money is. You will be eating Ramen noodles for life if you try to make any money off wood. Shoes, shirts, pants, etc is where the margins are.

This is a good resource.

Ramen noodles huh? An upgrade to my diet.
Seriously, thanks for the info/input.
Unfortunately skateboardtradenews.com is having problems (all links have jsp error).
As you seem to be speaking from experience would you be able give me an indication of the sorts of margins of hardware versus softgoods.
Ballpark is fine. I'll keep trying at the tradernews site.
Thanks again
Mark
