Need some professionsal advace, I am in the process of building a 10 foot transitioned, 1 foot of vert ramp, with a 12 foot tombstone and a roll in channel. Are the thrasher ramp plans any good. I have the old 80's copy and the bracing is ridiculous. I am going by the dimensions in the ramp palns to maximize wood use (sheeting it with skatelite) anf suggestions from those that have used the plans, trying to make maximize wood use and make it very stable
dimension description; http://www.thrashermagazine.com under ramp plans

How wide will your ramp be? I built several ramps in my backyard in the 80s and oddly enough still remember quite a bit about how I did it. The one thing that totally firmed up the 10' transition, 2 foot vert, 12' wide (that's all the room we had) ramp was when this guy asked us if we could use some 2x10s he had at his house. He gave those to us and we put them crossways behind the ramp and that thing was so solid then. Anyway, i'd be happy to help figure the plans out with you.

I don't know what the thrasher ramp planss say, but bracing is very f$^#ing important. I've built quite a few ramps around here, and we build the ramp into 4 ft. sections, carraige bolt all the sections together. Space the ribs out every 6-8 inches on Tranny, and every foot on flat. 2 layers of 1/2" ply and a layer of masonite/skatelight/steel, depending if it's gonna be indoors or outdoors.
You'll kick yourself if you get the ribs too far apart and the ramp sags and you put holes in it.
