Seems like there were some big nosed boards earlier (like '89), but I'm fuzzy on the dates on stuff from that period. When did G&S and Santa Cruz start doing those middle school shapes? |

i was at a demo in mid 89 where hensley was skating. he had redrilled the holes on the nose of the deck he was skating, so the nose was huge and the wheelbase short. shortly thereafter the king-size hensley appeared... |

Doesn't surprise me. Scoby is THE shit. He did the 1 footed 540 on the Cow Skates mini for a pack of smokes. Mint. My friend was climbing up the back of the ramp and missed it. lol |

Damn yeah I remember those bump concaves, my Vallely didn't have it though, it had a total new-school concave. First really big nosed board I remember was a Foundation Todd Swank which had 6" nose before Blind came out, but the board was 33" long. Lucero did one pretty early too. Those boards aren't on AOS, but I have pics in 'Skateboard' magazine (from the UK) at home. The Tommy Guerrero Iron Gate came out at the same time. |

I remember the Hensley King Size having the biggest nose at the time.
Know- the barnyard had about a 5 inch nose with a 6 1/2 tail if i remember correctly. but it was just about as wide as the rest of the deck. Classic. The G&S Shuffle-Heintz has a similar shape to it, but with a bigger nose. I hooked one up (just to remember the good ol' days) and it is super fun for clowning around on.

Yeah, you're right Herd, it is kinda big. I guess since it 's so wide it doesn't look as big. |

Obviously you've never seen the Heintzman catsup/ketchup deck. That nose is unreal. |

Not that this board has any relevance to the time, but have you seen the nose on the element natas popsickle stick reissue (not the slightly wider one)? Its really, really big. |
