Okay, if that's my opinion, then why is Lib getting GREAT reviews for the looks & performance of the magnetrac & banana tech advancements?
The TRS was getting great reviews before those 2 advancements, now nobody can touch Lib's superior construction.
This isn't just jabberjawing, the results are in. |

Lib Techs rule for me since 1991!
I got the far right Catman Cummins at the ASR as a sample and still ride various other Libs; the ACME with the sun graphics is my wife's rider.
The recent ones I haven't tried, but even the smaller boards at 151 cm can be carved at 185 lbs......I love them...and the looks I get 'carving' with soft boots. And they last very long!
Here is an old clip of my 'slopestyle' approach.

When's the last time anybody saw that many textured topsheets in a row?
Those are awesome!
A sight to behold.
From your style of snowboarding, I think you'd LOVE one of Lib's new Banana tech boards. |

Here is a review I wrote for the Evil Twin on http://www.boardreviews.com/:
"Let me start out by saying I was skeptical of the Bataleon triple base. And really, it wasnt until AFTER a day of riding, that I found I REALLY liked it. My first experience with Bataleon was on a 159 Hero 2 seasons ago. I demoed it with a friend. He rode a 150 Goliath. It took a few runs to really get used to the board. The first thing you notice is how easy it is to turn. It feels like you are carving ALL your turns. Most boards are either skidding, or carving. Bataleon's triple base allows the board to have an intermediate carve. At first it was weird. But I got used to it.
The next thing you notice is that the board will actually track STRAIGHT! That's right - no more toe to heel rocking to get the board to stay straight. It was really weird to just relax and let the board straightline.
At the end of the day, we both were suprised at how much fun we had on these boards. But I still want 100% convinced.
So last year I took out another regular base board to demo. Along with it I took a 155 Evil Twin. I rode the regular board for an hour. Then switched the bindings over to the Evil Twin. Just the chairlift ride up, I was telling my buddy that I have never found the perfect board. At the bottom of that run, I knew I found my "perfect board". It was INSTANT love. The 155 was actually the smallest board I've ever ridden. The flex was soft - didn't pop for ollies like i would like. BUT being 6' and 190-lbs, I believe I actually was over-weight for the board. (If I was to get a Evil Twin, I'd go with a 159). But even with the board being small, it still felt good and stable. Even at higher speeds. Since then, I have traded boards with guys to let them try the Bataleon, and each time I dread getting on a regular base.
Pros: Constant carve. Soft landings. Actually goes straight!
Cons: Can be hard to get the board to set an edge when getting your back foot in the binding (I have no problems, but my wife complained of this). Cannot be stone-ground with a standard base machine." |
