I have no idea how people ride boards without at least a kicktail. I feel like I have no evasive maneuvering control without one. It's all about the trucks in those situations and lots of times they fail. But then again I ride in garages with traffic a lot, so a kicktail helps me shimmy shimmy ya if I have to. |

I can turn on a dime with both the Bennetts and Kahalanis and easily navigate around just about anything. They turn better than most street boards. |

I rode vert most of my skate life. I also did slalom and downhill on occasion, but not like today.
Try it. |

PAWN you've ridden my longboard. It turns pretty damn good. I really only use the tail to get over cracks and off curbs and to hop the speed bump in that 12 story. Its too big and heavy to mauver with the tail like you can with a board your size. I don't know what this has to do with anything other than I need a tail too, but it has less purpose as the board gets larger. I might just need a longer tail |

Once speed picks up, the kicktail becomes less important that turning of the trucks -- and harder to use, too. That's not to say you can't use them on a longboard: I saw Jeff Tatum ollie his 42" pool board over a fallen rider in our garage. Hell, I'd have just speared 'em. |

Totally amazing. We had to ditch the US Marines at Camp Pendleton who were "guarding" the pipes. We skated our brains out. What is Jeff up to now? |
