I was looking forward to reading about Mark Renton, Sick Boy and the rest again, as I'm a big fan of Trainspotting and have read nearly all of Welsh's books, but I have to admit I was pretty disappointed.
It could have done with some editing to trim it down. Some of the lesser known characters should have got less page space.
Still enjoyed reading about Leith as I spent most summer holidays there as a kid.
started this book recently as well...and just cant get into it.
Am i right in thinking they had to put subtitles on the US cinema release of Trainspotting or was this just bullshit?
The Acid House was FAR better in my eyes, both in film and book!
Jacob - it took me 170 pages to get into it and even then it was a push to read on and finish it.
Hotrod - Yeah, I read that bitd they put subtitles on Trainspotting in the US. |

Have to agree. Welsh's other books have a great flow and you want to keep reading.
Skagboys was just a struggle to get through. |

I just signed up on goodreads.com. Anyone else here on it? Is it worthwhile or lame? |

Huh...... I posted here the other day and it just disappeared.
Just picked up 3 new books. One by Raymond Queneau, one by Georges Bataille and one by Jean Boudrillard. Hope they're good... |
