I posted an intro thread in the "hot discussions" section before I was directed here...so I'll refrain from re-creating the same post again. I'll be 41 in 2 weeks and have been skating since '77, so I'm not new to skateboarding but am new (again) to buying them. I hadn't bought a new one (or any one) since 1988 or so, when I bought a Vision Gator 2 in the rasta fade ...wish I still had that one...
Before that I had a Sims New Wave team deck and I got it back from my brother a quite few years back and still have it. Just picked up a Billy Ruff deck and Vision Ken Park complete. Not sure why because I don't intend to collect a bunch of boards, but I do plan on keeping what I have and keeping the Sims skateable. I'm originally from the DC area, grew up in MD and NoVA, and now live in Greensboro NC. |

try to as much and as often as I can...although I can't get used to the "skinny" boards that are the norm these days... give me my fat pig any day.

Welcome aboard.....there are a lot of member run skate companies here on the forum with "old school/new school style....hit up BIG MESS, Cock Fight, American Nomad just name a few....quality american made by real skaters.
And a good tip would be to read a lot before starting threads etc... |

yea, you might want to hang back a bit... i've been trying to lock that one down for a little bit.
anyways... session up in cherokee this sunday if you are down for the drive. no one really gives a hoot about deck choice or skill level. just bring a couple brews. |
