I say the wheels are still NOS but if you sell them you have to add a disclaimer: "Wheels set up on a display complete" or something to that effect |

Alright.
FWIW, as soon as I read this thread, I took the wheels off the board and put some different ones on. |

It's really an acronym to describe what type of part or equipment.
N=new (unused)
O=old (original equipment but out of production - not a knock off from some other company)
S=stock (been sitting on a shelf, storage, etc. and never applied/set up)
The second part of your question is really to do with condition which is separate. Mint, Very Good Shape, cosmetic blemishes, damaged etc.. |

Even if they're not used at all?
I said that because there looks to be dust/dirt on them in the pics. |

Furthermore, once an item has SOLD, it is no longer new. It becomes used whether it is used or not. |

Not Sure i agree with once it's sold, it's no longer NOS.
If Sims discovers a storage area that has ten new virgin NOS decks from the 80's and sells them to a skate shop, they are still NOS. If the shop sells one to the decks, unused to a snb member it's still NOS. If the snb member hangs the deck on his wall for 10 years and sells it, still untouched/unused, it's still NOS. The second anyone in that train bolts something on, alters with tools/stickers, paints it, or sets it up it is no longer NOS, it is simply an original equipment. Also, you cannot restore anything to NOS, you can only restore to original. NOS is so difficult to get because because it's been out of production for a long time, rare and a complete virgin to being used or bulit/setup for what the product what intended for, in this case skating it.
Vintage NOS mustang/shelby parts are unbelievably expensive. I've seen a 289 K code harmonic balance washer, yea a washer sell for $138 because it has the right numbers proving it was original and it was NOS. Same part but original, sell for $65, a reproduction for $5. |

the way i see NOS is something in the condition i wouldve seen it for sale in a shop back in the day.
like (i think it was) speedy said tho, peoples variations on the word 'MINT' vary hugely...and i dont mean as in the fucking ice cream flavour either!
i know of somebody who put an ad in a classic car mag advertising the inflation of tyres using NOS air canisters he had found which had been put away and stored since 1966 or something like that, so people could be PROPERLY concorse in their resto
and yes...he got replies from people fucking stupid enough! |

Nope, that's some kind of powdery coating on the wheels that came in the shrink wrap.

Sold to the end user is what I meant. Like when Ford sells a car to a dealer....it's not "sold" until someone buys it off the lot...or skateshop...after that it's used and should be referred to as "mint"....but NOS, no. NOS can only come from a dealer or a dude who had a shop BITD and had unsold inventory left over. |
