So, here's the news: Retro reissued Silverfish's "FishBalls" wheels as the Retro FreeRide and they come in Lime, Lemon and Orange Reflex urethane:
http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/Articles/Press_Releases_%26_Retail_News/The_Retro_FreeRide/"] [/URL]
It’s the classic Powerball shape in three durometers of Chris Chaput’s Reflex urethane. You might go for the now-classic 80a versions (just like a ‘Fishball) if you really want the grippiest of these three, or leap into the lemon (83a) or orange (86a) variations that add durability and slide performance as you work your way up the citrus tree. They’re perfectly named FreeRide and perfect for longboarders across the globe that are skating it all, and doing it for the fun of it.
The details on the FreeRide:
* MSRP: $47.99
* Height: 72mm
* Durometers: 81a, 83a, 85a Reflex
* Width: 45mm
* Contact Patch: 32mm
* Hub: 35mm, Offset
* Depth of Urethane: 18.5mm
* Edges: Round/Radiused
* Skate It: carving, cruising, downhill, and bigger longboards

Y'know, he's got something else planned for that size...
Anyway, yeah, the FreeRides are fun to skate. Just plain fun. |

Got em and being a cynical bastard (and an analyst) I looked to find any fault or weakness. They are better than I expected. Faster, grippier, well made. Top gear. |

I have a set in orange (86a). Much grippier than I expected, but slide quite well when they release. The slide is a bit delayed, like a tick slower than I would expect, takes an extra bit of umph to get them to break. They do lock back up well though, albeit a little unpredictable at this point. But I'm still breaking them in. |

I "lol" at people that say "lol" Free riding is downhill skateboarding for fun and not for shaving seconds off your run down the hill.
What do you think it means?
The free rides are made of nice urethane but the sectornine version of this wheel has a smoother sliding urethane and its wider contact patch also makes it transition nicer in my experience. |
