I am building a 6' high...16' wide little ramp in the backyard and want to make sure I have enough flat...I am thinking 12 foot. There will actually be about 8' of this that will be 8' high on one side. Thanks for any help.
I will try to post up some pics of my monstrosity later tonight.

whats the radius ?
12' seems okay, if its tight maybe some foot more .
its all personal preference, some like it fast like a pinball maschine and some want time to setup . |

6' ramp, 12' flat.
Gotta maintain your speed inbetween transitions. |

Okay, well update. I ended up with 11'6'' of flat. I was using stuff I had from a ramp I bought and we got in a hurry...didn't notice until too late. It'll haveta work. Anyway, I am using 3'4 inch on the flat and two layers of 3/8 on the trannies, final layer of steel.
My next question is....I have the 2 x 4 on 6' centers so plenty of support....about how far apart do you guys think I need to space the screws. I put quite a few in the flat due to it being one layer but the other I am thinking I can get away with spacing em further being there will be two layers....is that a good or bad idea????
Thanks for any input.
