Sorry but to hear you talk I don't think you're ready to even get a tattoo.
Wait a bit and really think about what you want, where and how big.
All good to ask your bros on the board but this should be a no doubt -done deal -I want it exactly like this decision.
Sounds like you're on the fence to me...
The pain is seriously not an issue if you really want it, it's not that bad.
I'm covered now , have been getting em since I was 15 and I'm 37 now.
be ready to spend big and get extremly addicted if you start down this road
Good luck tho either way.
Never thought about the dry shave effecting my skin before.
It does kinda suck so you might be on to something there. |

i've been gettin' tattooed since i was 16 and never even thought of the pain. i had my calf done when i was 17 and i almost fell asleep. it was like a massage almost. an electric needle massage.
if you compare it to getting a needle....it'd be more like getting 1000 needles only not as deep. it's more of a burning sensation. i find that within the first 15 minutes i think "arr why am i doing this?" after the 15 minute mark everything feels fine, the 'pain' goes away. it's more just an uncomfortable feeling.
if you are planning on getting just text, go to someone who is good at text. even though they'll put a stencil on you, some artists text abilities suck pretty bad.
i'm no tattoo artist but i hang around shops a lot, and i think with something like this they'll use a 7 needle round liner. which means it's 7 needles (in a circle) that are hitting you a couple hundred times a minute. someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on this.
the most i've had used on me was a 15 needle round liner. |

I agree on the sensation more of a burn than a sharp stick unless you get into sensitive areas. When I got the backs of my calves done the middle didn't hurt but as we went to the sides of my legs I could barely sit still. Inner biceps no problem, which leads me to believe the pain is different for different areas on everyone.
If you are not sure on size or design....wait. It is way worth it, if you are unsure on size due to "pain" then get a small one of something easy to cover up or on the thigh. Then when you see that it is not bad go huge on the more visible areas. I got some work done elbow to wrist on the back of my forearms last year. If I had wasted that space with one or two small ones I would have been depressed, so I waited for the right thing and it was worth it. |

Can't stand the pain of a 30 minute tattoo and you're on a skateboard message board?
This is either an April Fool's post or you're a freestyler. |
