funny how some of the thunder trucks characters can be seen in the earring catalogs of some vintage metal magazines...came across the skull with batwings,pretty sure all are pictured in different mags... |

That's exactly what they are. Terry Nails had an idea when they were doing the molds and all of a sudden ran out the door and down the street to head shop and came back with a bunch of earings and pressed them into the sandcast molds. |

I picked up some early stage 1s and the bushings are black. any of the originals have black bushings? |

cool, they are ash grey now though...any tips for making them black again?
edit: 1500 grit sandpaper works |

Early stage 1s with black bushings. Baseplates have the "earrings" but the hangers still have the remnants of the "post"
