Never used a plan in my life. I guess I have an engineering type of mind. Learned by trial and error.
There are plans everywhere online and better yet go to an indoor wooden skatepark and take a peek underneath the ramps and get an idea firsthand how they come together, that's what I did. |

I have been to the DIY web site.. Its a great site with some great ideas.
I have been to a few other sites. They all have great ideas.
Back in the day I built a few jump ramps and a couple quater pipes, but never a half pipe.
I guess I will just pick and choose from what I can find..
By the way Rampman, you have a great looking ramp. It must be fun as hell?

Iam thinking:
3' high
16' wight
6' to a 6' and half.
8' flat.
Didnt want to go to steep or too mellow. Just getting back into skateing. And easy for my 10 year old to learn on. She is learning. |

go a bit more on the flat I think.....10-12...I don't know, its personal preference I suppose the rest of your specs sound good though
these guys have some pretty nice plans.

Save you lots of time, I'm infected with the same gene that rampman has, keeps me from asking directions and buying plans for things.
what will you cover it with? |

Good specs. Definitely a good size to learn on. Go with more flat though, 8 feet is just too quick and won't give you time to set yourself up for the next wall. 10' to 12' is good like Marker said. Since it'll be 16' wide, throw an extension in there. |

Well thats the one problem we have, getting a lot of rain here. So I want to put it in side some where. Dont want to put it out side. Rain and snow will just kill it. Iwant to find a place to build it. And that gives me another idea. But thats another post.
If I build it outside, I will paint the sides and spar the rideing surface. And tarp it..
Rampman,
If the hight was bigger I would go with more flat. There is a 3' mimi half in a skatepark near me. It has 6' of flat. And it is way to fast. I dont enjoy riding it. I want it to be laid back and fun.
Never thought about more flat.
Rampman, whats the hights of ur spine and the flat? |

My mini part is four feet high w/ six foot tranny and 12' flat. My mini is a tight ramp, usually guys would build a four foot mini w/ seven or eight foot tranny. |
