As you may know from another post I'm having a go at pad printing but real basic diy construction.

I'm curious as to how the surface with your design on makes contact with the wheel to make the print, I have seen pad printers but im unsure about the actual construction of the pad and cliche - have you used a standard pad or had to make one that is more suitable to your wheels curves, could you post a picture of the pad and your cliche? (i know im totally unaware of this technique so i apologise now as i may already be asking the wrong info)

for example is image one with its standard looking pads suitable in the way it meets a wheel area?

The pad I am using right now is the A7 Round pad on this page: http://tampoprinters.com/pads/a7-round-pad.html

i have a QM 5 2000 Series Pad Printer from Press A Print (similar to this one) at my work. i've never figured out how to use it because...i didn't know what it did in the first place.

now i'm curious if i can do this too.

i just realized i forgot to add a link in my post where i said (similar to this one) http://pressaprint.com/equipment-padprinter.cfm

anyways that's an informative video. i'm not sure what he's saying but now i see how a pad printer works. the pad printer i have has like a 5" pad. maybe i'll give it a shot one day. wheel printing would be cool to do.

nice! not bad for the first time. now make 60's! I need to find a source for 60's and only wanna run 50 sets... most places want a 200 set minimum and I will never sell that many wheels...

You'd be surprised, I survived a year of unemployment off of wheel sales.
