I know I just posted one of these Q's a couple weeks ago, but I've seem to run into a snag. Looking for some advice, so here goes.
While tearing off the top layer on my quarter (which was toast). I found the 3/8" underneath was all black & rotten from water damage. For those of you who don't know this is an outdoor quarter that is tarped, but not always thanks to my kids. So what I was wondering was does anyone here have any experience using 1/2" or 3/4" marine grade plywood for the first layer? I used to know a guy who used 2 layers of 1/2" on a 10' half & cut grooves in the back side to make it bend, back in the early 80's. I lost touch with him so he's no longer an option in this matter. I'm just trying to knock out 2 birds with one stone here. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks, GK33

I remember that Marine ply was the recommended material for ramps WAYYY BITD (81?). They (the magazine with ramp building plans, BMX Action maybe?) advised soaking the wood first to get it to bend.

Personally, I just hit the shit out of each layer with Thomspons.

some 1/2 inch plywood is 4 layers.
this makes it real hard to bend.
what you need is a 3 layer plywood, CDX.?
available at home depot.
that way it is the outside plys running long,
and the inner ply is across.
it bends very easily.
just make sure you ply it across the width.

Their some new roofing sheeting out that comes coated with some water proof material on one side. I forget the name but I will ask my friend when I see him.

Put drains in so water doesn't sit and soak in.
Here's a link to a how-to:
