1- wouldnt the skull be dirty/browned/yellowed too if it were indeed dirty from a smoke filled room
2- wouldnt the dark spot under the clock guts be lighter if in fact it were dirty/browned from being in a smoke filled room
3- doesnt the dark spot under the guts kinda give clue that the deck was indeed a darker color originally and faded from light over time (as it doesn't seem to have a really dark saturated color, although the gold sparke is apparent to me)
I just don't see why it's so hard to accept that its a gold dip...
And why you wouldn't want to trade it to me....
Just my opinion, but:
1. No, the skull would remain it's original colour. It's a different process and I have never seen a NOS graphic discolour like a deck itself
2. Possibly some sort of concentration of the tar-uptake/discolouration due to the pressure applied to the deck due to the clock.
3. I'm pretty sure that the original colour of the deck would not have been dark like the spot under the clock and the rest of the deck faded so much. Unless it was hung in a solarium.
Just my opinion. It would be pretty rad if it was gold, but it looks like a discoloured pearl-white to me. |

anyone remember the gold PP ripper pig that sold off of e-bay a while ago?
came from China or Japan or something....not that has anything to do with this, but Powell did have some decks in gold? |

I actually did think of that when this topic came up...
I was gonna post it and be like, see: they did do gold dips, but...
After doing some research, it looks more like a pink dip with gold stripes, so I'm not sure if its relevant...

I have never seen a 2nd one
...also I have not seen a green one in the early models....obviously powell did 2 green ones recently. I bet they pick yellow as a future reissue ripper deck.
you decide! |

The gold and pink ripper was most likely a knockoff. Either way, no, it had nothing to do with this.
As for golden powells I never claimed that powell never made them but I still don't think this is one of them. |

I thought a 2 piece was sexier.
