I agree. I go for shape. I like having many different types of boards to ride. I saw a quiver the other day that made me pretty jealous- all these innovative, unconventional new shapes, new types of wheels, new truck set-ups. I want a new board that isn't going to ride like any of my other boards. |

First and foremost is the smell of the deck. Does it smell like someone spilled beer all over it? Is there a sent of burnt urethane on the underside? Also a good amount of oil and grease emenating from the plys makes it a shure fire winner for me. |

I like decks that I had when I was younger (mostly Santa Cruz) so that it is what I tend to look for. Then I look for decks that have artwork that I liked. |

Well, like most, whatI had when younger.
Next would be graphic. I like Lady Guadalupe Jessee deck. Not a religious nut, but I do like religious pictures and storie /etc.
But my latest purchase, a Pushead Real brand board is because I have always been a Pushead fan.
Shape and style is aways an issue, as I will more than likely soon look for an old Hosoi Hammerhead.
But my all time favorite is my Jeff Philips Sims model with ghost like demon on the bottom. It's destroyed from my kids leaving it in the rain when I was stationed in Japan, but I plan on restoring it soon. Maybe starting this week. |
