| Another massive dDOS attack this morning. We've temporarily banned 18 countries via the firewall to stem the affect—sorry to those who find themselves in IR, RU, VN, MK, RO, AO, TR, TH, PE, KE, KW, KZ, PH, UZ, KG, AL, BY or MN. We'll reopen the servers to those countries when the attack subsides. |

| I still don't get it- why would people in those countries have to gain from an attack on a site about skateboard collecting? |

They are attacking the entire server farm. There are some FBI and Military assets within the server farm and sometimes the server farm itself becomes a target.
When you move up into the big enterprise servers there's always 40 to 120 other servers in the facility and there's always someone that makes it a target for a myriad of reasons. |
