I'm in San Leandro. Will definitely throw up a request for help when it is time to start screwing things together.
Casey: you're right. I'm seeking advise, but beyond that, everyone can take a hike.
I'm building what I have always wanted and if anyone likes it, you have an open invitation. |

Finally a week without rain!
Transitions are 90% cut out. Final height of the ramp ended up being 5'.
Half of the flat is built and sitting on the cement piers.
Hope to have the rest of the flat and final adjustment of the cement piers done tonight. |

Definitely hit Bill up, he'll loan you a chop saw for a year without asking for rent...

Spent the weekend rerouting my sprinklers and changing heads so my yard can get watered without soaking the ramp. I cant believe I didnt think about that until recently.
Tell me now if there is some yard maintenance thing you guys have run into that I might be completely failing on. |

We are firm believers in "if it doesn't survive, it doesn't belong in our ground"*, so I've not had any issues with any irrigation problems.
I did throw down weed block fabric underneath the ramp, and the whole platform is made from pressure treated lumber, and sitting on concrete piers. My biggest problem is the roses and blackberries assaulting the southern side, the apricot suckers assaulting the north, and the weeds growing 10x faster than I can repair my weed whacker.....
*Primarily due to the fact that the yard is too big, our legs are too few (my wife is an amputee... and the children are far too busy for us to devote much time to maintenance. |
