Here are some shots by photographer Joe Brook (Thrasher) who has been instrumental in gathering the talent to make this DIY happen!

And everyone is totally cool with this?!? Like, city officials aren't going to get all pissy after it's all finished?!?!?

I love it! That's totally rad, looks super fun. Skate-town Detroit, anyone?

Super cool.

Detroit was second to Flint as "most dangerous" place in the U.S.

The skate stuff should push it to #1!!!

^ Ha, ha...hope not...he has been keeping the city informed. To give you an idea what they're dealing with...when it came to one particular issue he was told; don't worry we cut back so much on inspectors that on this particular issue one won't be coming.
It's so ghetto around there that the park looks like a field of roses...

Mitch was telling me that the only interest so far was by the police who were called out via 911 because someone was cleaning up the vacant lots and cutting down a couple trees. Turns out one of the cops use to skate and the other went to art school with us. They returned later just to be stoked out on the progress.
Most of the locals are grateful to see anything of any kind being constructed, especially something the kids can use. Hopefully, the vibe with the locals continues without conflict...fingers crossed.

This is pretty amazing and I like to see an idea come together and it work.

Congrats. Very cool community effort.

I love it when a plan comes together.

^ Yeah...really sweat. Some things are just meant to be and it all just aligns. I think it comes down to pure intentions and a lot of heart, so much so that it gets willed into existence.

...it's a nice way to think...

Just got word that the vintage pool coping has been acquired! On Fathers Day!
