No, that's what I've ceased to do as those that only use cell phones for internet access use gmail, yahoo, me, live, hotmail etc.

Me too. That's the address I've always used on here.

The policy began in 2010. I guess I should have started it earlier.

youre still blocking freemail registrations, arent you?

ie: hotmail, yahoomail, gmail, etc?

i never buy anything off anyone that doesnt have a 'real' email address.

Pardon my ignorance, but who pays for email? And by "real" email do you mean the "free" email account my internet provider (Verizon) gave me when I first signed up with them, the one they use as a marketing ploy to people like my mother; "In addition to super high speed internet, we provide you with your very own email account!"

Fuck me, Verizon barely "provides" internet service, I'm sure as shit not going to trust them with maintaining my email account.

I do recall having to jump through some major hoops to join S&B, more so than any site I've ever become a part of. One, having to use my employers email and several back and forth inquiries with Slob over issues related to it. I agree it was a time consuming process.

I guess I understand the original requirement to safe guard because of the heavy "selling/buying" nature of S&B. But, wouldn't it be just as easy for someone to scam from a so called "paid" email. There are ways to spoof that shit all day long.

Yes, but they're easier to track if they're using an ISP e-mail.

So BKB, when you buy something off ebay you get their contact information before bidding to assure they have an ISP sourced email address?

Comon now..

IMO I think its a good thing, might bring some decks to the table that weren't previously available.

I lurked for over two years before joining because I never set up my ISP's free email. I've always liked Gmail since the beginning, as far as I can remember they were always leading the curve on bigger email attachments.
But IRC was so good at that, it still is.

I'm more apt to buy something of someone who is invested in this site and posts a lot vs someone who joined in 2005 but only has 53 posts.
I've only had one or two shit dealings that took way longer than needed, but they came through.

Sorry, beer.
