Sure it wasn't him? They didn't produce yellow Vallely's like the one in Public Domain. Unless it was neon yellow. Would be funny if all this time you thought it was an imposter, and it was actually the real deal. |

I think it was yellow, but we're talking '89 so it could have been green to be honest. But it was clear he was trying to look just like Vallely. But you're right, I've thought about it over the years....maybe it was really him and he really was nursing an ankle injury. If that's the case, I can say that I totally out skated Mike V back in his prime. lol
But I still think it was just a poser. |

I met this dude named Slob at Coronado skatepark in the summer of 2008.

Met some kid named Dustin Dollin (sp?) the other night at an art opening in Hollyweird. Friend I was with drove him and the team around on tour a dozen years ago. Nice guy. Eric Dressen and Ngoho were there, but I already knew those dudes. |

Only slightly skate related, but I met Dhani Harrison(Beatle George's son) backstage at a gig last week. I told him I enjoyed the rest of his interview in the Bonus Brigade DVD and he kind of lit up and we had a short but intense conversation about it. I asked him point blank, "so what did you think of the movie?"
He looked me in the eye and said, "I thought it was shit." Said he's working on some sort of film with Mullen, who apparently was at the gig as well, though I didn't see him. |

I met and skated with Johnee Kop at a demo way back in 88 or 89. Total weirdo and he was a shitty skater too. The locals were better than him. I think Gator was a better street skater.
I was disappointed to say the least when I saw a pro skater in person for the first time.
That same weekend I met a Canadian pro on Walker named Steve Harnesh. He was super cool and gave me one of his freestyle decks for nothing and he got me into freestyle which I putzed around with for a couple years. He gave me a good deal on a Mike Smith I bought from his shop also. Cool guy. |

Insanely hot and humid that day too. The faster you went in the bowl the wetter you got.
Love that place. Fun little park—and Wally Holiday smooth.
