This is probably the best balanced amp I've ever played - all pick ups sound proper and killer. If I could take this and amp it even more, it be the end all...so the search will always continue.

100% original 1965 Champ. 2 prong, guts, etc. Score at a local Pawn.

Gear talk - When I talk about the balance, break up, pick up tones, I'm thinking the 3 x 10 tweed bandmaster may be it.

Nice Champ, Champ. I'd like to score a Blues Jr. myself.

My latest:

Office rig

Rebuilt effects Board

Axiom

Tonehenge

The Laney AOR with a THD Hotplate powers a 4x10 and 1x15, the Traynor YBA-1a with the Power Soak powers a 4x12 and 1 x 15,

Sick gear. Do the attenuators do a lot for your sound? Guitarist I play with is looking for one for his dual rec.

No. They both have negative aspects in terms of slightly dulling the tone and you can't get any volume boost via pedals. The Hot Plate has a kind of a tone knob to accentuate the little bit of highs it dulls—but its not the same as with no attenuation. But they're needed as both rigs are way too loud without them at the levels I run them to get the tone I'm after.

Hoping to get a Suhr with a built in attenuator that does not change the tone in any way while exhibiting that lush plexi tone I dig.

The office rig is an old POD run into an Ampeg Rocket combo with a 12" Greenback. I'm getting remarkably good tones out it—though it of course lacks the ability to push air up your back like 4x12s do.

Thanks, good to know that there's some tone loss as it's probably a deal breaker.
It's crazy how good solid state stuff like the pod can sound in a small tube setup. If it only translated to the big rigs.

Not really a loss of tone, just a slight dulling which can be eq'd on the P-soak and on the Hot Plate there's a knob to brighten it back up.
