Heh true.
You think they had to pay the skaters/artists for their time?
They might have had to pay for the right to use the massive amounts of copyrighted images/artwork/clips from skate videos/etc.
There's little things like transportation, catering, lodging, etc. for xx amount of people. I guess it could add up.
Then again, Clerks was shot on a budget of $27,500. |

From the Kickstarter page:
WHERE WILL THE KICKSTARTER FUNDS GO?
•Editing
•Graphic Animation
•Music Licensing
•Archival Film & Photo Licensing
•Mastering
Archival footage and photos, era specific music and animated graphics are essential to telling this story. SK8FACE was able to join forces with Vogner.TV which has extensive experience creating incredible graphics for companies like REDBULL and NBC sports.
The animation package will include several mind blowing sequences, like the opening of our video, a visual timeline to help the viewer understand where we are in history, specific board animations, titles and some top secret special FX.
We project the editing and finishing will take 4-6 months and hope to see a late summer 2014 release.
Of course, we would love to meet our funding goal. And the more money we raise, the better the film will be. So please help contribute to this film and become a part of skateboard and art history. |

I'm not involved. I just saw people questioning the high price so I added in that info on what they say the money is being used for. |

Hey guys, this is Matt Bass, the Director of SK8FACE. Yeah 180 does look high so I just included a breakdown in the Kickstarter story.
If the kickstarter doesn't reach its goal then I basically need to get Free Music, less graphics and sacrifice some of the archival footage and pics or have them donated. Kickstarter takes 10% off the top and then we still gotta make the decks, shirts, dvd, shipping etc.. which is roughly 25%
45k / Editing / Digital Storage / Telecine (9 months of editing)
30k / Graphic Animation / FX
35k / Music Licensing
15k / Archival Film & Photo Licensing
7k / Mastering Video & Sound
30k / Cost to Produce Kickstarter Pledges
18k / Kickstarter / Amazon Fees 10%
This is a movie about skateboard graphics so it really NEEDS sick graphics to help tell the story. Plus we are planning on doing an animated timeline which will thread throughout the film.
Its been literally years in the making and a complete labor of love the whole time, and now its finally its time to wrap it up. |

Great they tracked down Andy Tajikian, he must have some good stories about the Vision graphics and very little heard from him apart from that bit in Di5po5able |

It took me two years to track down Andy! That man is nowhere to be found which is pretty hard to do in the age of the internet.
He did have a ton of great stories and smoked at least 100 cigarettes during the interview. |
