crosses are ubiquitous and varied symbols. Crosses such as these are old symbols that been around for more than a millennium. Same thing with the swastika, centuries old at least.
In this case the direct inspiration for the Indy logo was the lower red cross seen on the Time magazine cover. |

The combination of Red , white and black as a graphic design perspective has always proven to be the most striking....Romans did it first....Hitler stole it....Santa cruz use it....Olsen and Peters like it. |

It holds up. Maybe it's more of an inspiration, but the angle and overall concept are directly from that drawing. When you add in this other Finlay, you see more inspiration.

Right. Some graphics are closer than others, but it's not like any of the original SC graphics were just straight xeroxed copies (the way people liked to do in the 90s). |
