'Nother Skatelite related question.

Trying to find a suitable sealant to plug all the old holes and joins in my used Skatelite.

Can any of you recommend a product for this? I started with some general builders adhesive but it was too rubbery. Plus it contracted when it dried, leaving little craters instead of a smooth surface.

No skatelight experience here, how big are the cracks and holes?
Pics might help.

They're just countersunk holes from previous use (approx. 10mm) and small seams between each sheet (approx. 2-4mm).

Maybe try epoxy or auto body filler (bondo) for the holes. I would think the seams need to be left unfilled to allow for expansion, but don't know for sure.

Sounds like you don't really need to fill those.
Bondo will crack, and will soak up moisture.
If you must fill, use latex or silicone caulk.

I need to do it to keep moisture from getting to the ply underneath. They're not all full sheets of Skatelite but rather smaller pieces jigsawed together so there are a lot of holes to fill and more seams than you'd normally have.

Thanks for you help fellas. I'll post pics once she's looking presentable.

Try fiberglass it's flexible can handle the weather and be sanded smooth, as long as it's just screw heads it should be fine.

I would take all sheets off before you fill the holes.

Good luck and let us know

Thanks mate but the ramp is moving to a friends house this weekend. Landlord sold the house so we have to move.
I'll get him to try it out though. Cheers
