I recently built an 8' long box and found some angle iron from a local builder supply but it weighs a ton! Anyone have any suggestions on what you've used on yours? I'd love to find some 3" x 3" x 96" angle iron with a more rounded outside corner to help save the shins.

Can you ‘find’ an old street sign pole?.
Chock out your box and set in in like coping?

I dunno,
I always avoided anything at a skatepark with a square edge.

Thanks O, but I'm looking for 90 degree angled metal, not round. I think I may have tracked some down, but curious what others have used...

I used to get angle iron from bed frames. At least when they were open, you could get a bed frame for $5 at thrift stores. That will give you 2 long pieces of angle iron.

Just take a file to the sharp edge you'll grind and dull it down a bit.

I have enough nasty scars on my shins, it's worth the effort of cleaning up the edge with a file.

x2, old bed frames work great. Just have to dismantle them a bit, but for the money, cheap and (basicly) easy.
If your local thrift store is closed, check FB marketplace or dumpsters around apaertment buildings. They always seem to be around there.

plankskate and zeno01 - good idea guys! Only problem is I need at least 2.0" to cover gaps and to securely mount them to the box. Not sure if bed frames will be wide enough, but i'll check.

Here's what I found on ebay. It's 18 gauge stainless steel. Anyone ever use this?
