Hi all hope I could get a few answers here,

how fast do soft wheels at duro 78/86a get worn out? how much do bearings affect speed? does brand matter or would generic wheels/trucks/bearings work just as well (assuming same measurements)? One side of my board requires more force/effort than the other for turning/carving, does anyone know why it does this?

The same as most other wheels of that size.

A poorly designed bearing can cause you to go slow while a great bearing will allow you to go fast.

Many brands are junk, but not all. Generic almost always sucks—embarrassed to put their brand on it.

If your bearing claims to be above ABEC 1 its a fraud. A true set of ABEC 4 bearings would cost you in the vicinity of $450.00

The best bearings on the market are Rockets, Bones Swiss and Oust. None of them reach a true ABEC 1. Fortunately that doesn't matter because an ABEC rating doesn't really matter with skateboard wheels/bearings/trucks.

Because most of your weight is centered on the heal side of your board thus making turning the opposite way more difficult. But normally one does not notice such things after skating for awhile.

You posted in the wrong section btw

to add to this...

make sure the nuts are not too tight...will def slow you down.

also the use of spacers help keep the bearings lined up thus making them faster...
