Can anyone tell me anything about these Thunders? I've had them in my storage space for about 15 years. Can't find anything about them on Google & couldn't find any similar on ebay either.

I also have these Street Bones wheels that don't have the size or durometer labeled. Weird.

There was a Thunder Truck info thread hear somewhere....

The axe and machette are just 2 of 15 or so cheapo earings Terry Nails grabbed from down the street and pressed into the master mold at the last minute making Thunder's Stage II trucks one of the most iconic ever.

Fantastic fucking trucks. Turn better than Indys (and made in the same foundry) but not quite as dep or as fast as Bennetts. Nicely stable, and grind so so good—and if you press out the the axle and replace it with a 7.98mm spring steel axle pinned in you'll just be fucking thrilled by the performance.

Wish they would reissue them to go with all the Natas and Lucero reissues. That would be the shit

Thanks, slob! I'm going to set them up on a PP reissue. I've never tried Thunder. I have 2 sets that I took off of completes about 20 years ago. The other set is black and has the skull & cross bones. Those came off of a Skull Skates Social Distortion board with some old Hosoi Rockets.

Skip turned me onto them a while back. After 30 years of riding Indys for the most part, the Thunders quickly proved themselves to be fucking killer! Stronger, faster, better grind and they last I scored a set that belonged to Natas and a set that belonged to Jay Adams from Skip.

Still really dig them, a lot, both Stages in fact, but I've been riding Aces more so these days but still take the Thunders out for a rip from time to time—especially the set I put the 7.98mm stainless steel axles in.

Unrelated to those Thunders and for the sake of conversation, I just switched over to the new 161 hollows. Stock bushings and they turn great. As far as I know they're still made at Ermico. If that's not the case please don't spoil it for me.

I just got a new set of Thunder 161's. I usually run 1/4" risers but they stick out pretty far with these trucks. Are Thunder risers the only risers that fit this baseplate?

I honestly don't know with both Fausto and Eric both dead, who knows? I had heard that Indy are no longer done there—manufacture is now allegedly overseas (China).

I heard there was some power trip with Novak and he pulled Indy production out of Ermico entirely. Who knows... But I like the idea of an old foundry in SF casting skateboard trucks
