OJ supposedly recently re-invented the wheel with a multi-duro 95a/101a wheel.

Haven't heard anything since....so wondering if it was an OJ joke in response to Powell's re-invention.

Since they started offering the 64mm G Bones style that's all I've been skating. I dig em, but still get a little slippy on Masonite.

We have a set of the Double Duro OJ's in the shop. We had a customer who was riding the Dragon formula wheels buy the DD OJ's as a replacement set of wheels. He came in a week later and said that the OJ's felt like the reverse of the Dragons, for everything the Dragons did right, OJ's did wrong. This was one of the older guys around my age (46), so from his explanation, the Dragons feel like a softer wheel while able to slide like a harder wheel. He said the OJ Double Duro wheels rode like a hard wheel but felt like wheel flexed around the bearings. I'm not quite healed enough to do anything to test the two to form an opinion. That and I have two many sets of Speedlabs that I may never need another set of wheels.

I bought a set, 56mm, I think the most expensive wheels I've ever bought! But then again, all equipment is going up as with everything else.

I skate on mostly crust here in the UK, slappies and curb stuff mostly. Occasional pump around a skatepark and a long roll with my boy. These wheels are great for this; I'm able to roll on the crust and still get little powerslides. The wheels break away easily on curb nose slides, shuv-its and slappies. They hold up well pumping on smooth concrete and still have a squeak when you slide. All good.

We got the okay to set up a skate spot under a bridge recently. I've been the surface is a bit crusty in spots. I've been riding 56mm Dragons and am pretty stoked on how they handle. I say Powell figured out something pretty rad with these wheels.

Sad they are still trying to sell these and now with Russel’s name ?!?
Ricta Air cores were like that too, slow as shit.
Proof that Santa Cruz doesn’t have anyone with any engineering knowledge on staff or at least anyone that ever read anything about tires and rolling resistance.
Glad they are still doing the Cruz Missile concave though

I’ve been riding SPF’s for at least a decade. My favorite wheel in smooth concrete. I’m riding rough concrete now so I got some 97X wheels. They are smoother and faster on rough crete. I don’t like the way they slide on smooth crete though. Noticeable slower on smooth crete too. The 99X came out after I got my 96’s. Maybe those are the ticket? I’d recommend them to anyone who rides tough concrete
