finaly made the first deck with our new vacuum pump.
the giantslalom foamy
specs:
- size 800 x 205 mm
- wheelbase 560 mm
- weight 520g
- 10 mm concave
material:
- 14 mm airex foamcore (will be 8, 10, 12 mm in future models)
- uni- and bidirectional fibreglass
- texalium
- glass/carbon stringer
- epoxy resin
this deck is superstiff, virtually no flex at all.
this makes a great, responsive giant-slalom deck.
i personally prefer a very hard but snappy flex which i think ill get by using thinner cores. (the distance between the outer layers is very important for the stiffness)
well ... its a proto and so we know what to make better.
enjoy the pics!

Very nice. I look forward to seeing one.
Is that an Airflow front hanger on an RTX baseplate? |

yeah it was pretty hot and humid today so i HAD to get rid of my clothes when i came in after my first ride on it and took the pics.
just that you get the right impression, thats me "rocking" the new deck WITH clothes:

Did you use some of your furniture to make those boards? |

That is a great-looking deck. Is it strictly giant slalom?

the specs make it a gs deck but you could also use it in a wider spaced hybrid slalom or boarder cross event.
i also like it just for racing through the city cause its very light and easy to accelerate.
its has far less vibrations than a wood deck on rougher surfaces but with its stiffness it has less dampening when rolling over small edges and stuff.

Beautiful design! It's got serious Euro-style. The carbon fibre looks so rad. If only I skated slalom. |
