The Powell bug is one of the most sought after decks in the history of collection. It is almost as rare as a mint picachu card... E-mail me if you have a NOS one.. they are so pricey and soooo difficult to find. |

I got a very close to mint yellow one. @Arbuckle: How often do you see this shape ??
I have seen two of them on ebay both wrecked but I see Tony Hawks every day

And there we are, I also noticed that but did not dare to post it as I am a real newbee in the collectors world.
Mine has a red 1988 Ripper on top, and also 1988 copyright on bottom.
Could it be that PP did them for a very short time only and the finally concerned the graphics to be unsellable. Thta deck is also quite small (very short)like the T. Guerrero pigs.
Any ideas ??

the first bug, with the checkerboard background, was the one with the same old ripper/skull and sword team/generic shape in the "XT" model (oval dragon top logo). the second version was a more bulbous looking deck minus the hips and has a bunch of ants for a background (winged ripper 7-ply). both are fairly common and neither sold very well due to the shapes. the one extremely rare deck is the butterfly model seen on a few powell product posters back in the day--only a few prototypes were made and the deck never made it into the production line up. hope that helps... |

Yeah, Ialso would like to see a silver first model with a red bug on it.
hey lotforty, do you also remember in which colors the first one was made ?? I only have seen black, silver and blue until now, although I think to remember a red/pink one on ebay, is that possible?
Thanks
