What were the defacto standard bearings in 1987? I am restoring my old Skull and Sword Powell Peralta and need to replace the bearings. Thanks... |

NMB or GMN's, steel shields both sides. I think the first Bones Swiss were out around then too... |

yeah, swiss were out around then. NMB lasted longer but seemed to disappear by 1990. The GMNs or germans as me and my friends called them, seemed a little faster but fell apart a lot sooner. |

NMB bearings were and still are my favorite bearings, especially back in the days. I have two sets of Rockin Rons now, 1 ceramic and the other regular. I'd throw some killer NMB's for sure in the setup personally, but I'm biased... |
