HOLD YOUR KNEE PAD WITH YOUR LEADING ARM........that will keep you in perfect position if you hold that sucker the whole way down.

Well, I just got back and this time was a hell of a lot better that last weeks disaster.

I only dropped in on smaller ramps and did what slim suggested and I felt 100x more comfortable.

I haven't skated vert in almost 10 years (and I didn't do much vert skating back then) so it's tremendously fun to learn and see yourself getting better.

I plan on going at least twce a week since it's a free skatepark and it's less than 3 blocks from my house.

Let's see how I'm doing one year from now .

It won't take a year. Skate as much as possible and within a few weeks to months you'll be getting around pretty good.

Glad it's working out! The bending of the knees, not the waist, is a great way to put it Stubbs.

One warning: smallish terrain can be deadly! There is just not enough space between the top and the bottom to correct any slight mistake. Anything off and SLAM. And the body part you fall on is usually something like a face or a hip or a wrist since there is no time to slide out on another, padded, body part. I had kind of a tweaked ankle last time I went to a skatepark to meet up with Dangersticks and the guy from LatterDaySkates and the only time I fell was in the little 3foot bowl. Deadly, I tell you, deadly! Something with a mellower transition and at least 6 feet deep would be my choice for learning dropping in or anything like that. (the wheelbase of the board is more suited to that as well).

Thanks guys! You sure make a newbie feel at home

Like I said in a previous thread though.....I'm over my popsicle stick board.

I'm probably going to be moving torwards the a Bulldog or Deathbox board.

I'm really liking the Bulldog wheels...does anybody here reccomend a particular Bulldow wheel for vert skating?

Hey Dushoni,
Do yourself a favor...skip a deathbox deck and go for a
BDS deck; or a Skaterbuilt, Afroman or Factory13 deck.
Quality decks made by companies who care about quality
and customer service.
As far as BDS wheels for vert; what kind of vert?
Wooden ramps or concrete vert.
